We knew the theme, but nothing else. All wines were tasted fully blind.
This wine consists of 80% Tempranillo and 20% Garnacha and gets 24 months of oak (….probably -very- old) The result is a somewhat rustic wine with cherries, dark berries, coconut and lactic impressions in the bouquet. On the palate cherries, red currants, some spiciness, a firm amount of acidity and some bitterness as well as alcoholic in the finish. Ok basic wine, but a bit sad for a reserva.

Lactic bouquet with cherries and a touch of menthol. A somewhat sweet start, followed by cherries and raspberries and some dark berry fruits. Yoghurt as well. Firm acidity, hardly any tannin and just a little bitterness in the finish. Clean and basic wine.

A bit rustic and stinky bouquet with some smoke as well. On the palate ok concentration, dark cherries, some spiciness, juicy, a good balance between sweetness and acidity and slightly sticky tannin. Ends with some sweet impressions. In my eyes a bit controversial wine. Nothing wrong with it and even some interesting components, but overall not really special either. Hard to score. 85 or 86 is more or less correct imho.

Light transparent red color. Fairly light and still a bit reticent bouquet with some spiciness and yeast impressions. On the palate a sweet start with strawberries, mild, but present acidity, soft tannin, some spiciness and soft bitterness. Short finish. Clean and ok, but not really special wine.

Purple red. A lot of dark fruits like blackberries, blueberries and cherries in the bouquet. On the palate a juicy somewhat sweet start, some spiciness, ok acidity and mild and round tannin. Some vanilla as well and overall also a firm amount of sweetness. Maybe not extremely complex, but certainly a very ok wine to drink between now and 2018.

On the palate a juicy wine with some vanilla, ripe red as well as dark fruits. some sweetness, ok acidity and slightly sticky tannin. A mouth full. The wine has some length, but is a bit alcoholic as well in the finish.

The wine was served too warm (68°F/20°C), so only some notes and not a score. Light carmine red. In the bouquet smoke, minerals and matchsticks. On the palate minerals, some spiciness, soft tannin and bitterness, but quite dominating acidity. The alcohol is quite evident as well. The wine seems to be out of balance, but served a bit chilled (60°F/16°C), it might present itself much better.
