Drank at WWS riesling tasting. Pale straw in color. Nose of peach & a bit of petrol. Good acidity level, fair amount of sweetness (more than I expected from a Kab), fairly lush fruit, lots of lime, citrus and minerality. A very pleasant wine, and voted the #3 WOTN.
Drank at WWS riesling tasting. Pale gold in color, honeysuckle and fairly prominent petrol aromas on the nose. Vibrant acidity, with a very nice earthy, crushed stone quality, as well as lots of honey, and a solid fruit level of apricots and peaches. Sharp finish, and good length. A very nice wine, and one of my favorites of the evening.
Drank at WWS riesling tasting. Aromas of honeysuckle and petrol. Nice freshness, fairly crisp acidity, medium bodied with peach and apricot flavors. Somewhat on the roundish side, also fairly sweet. Pleasant spatlese all around.
Drank at WWS Riesling tasting, and I've had this wine before, and my notes are entirely consistent--though I rated the wine slightly higher this time around. Fairly dark in color, nose of petrol, honey and peaches. Medium bodied, though not as viscous as I recall, with apricots galore. Lots of honey, some earth and some nuttiness. Great length. A delicious wine appreciated by all at this tasting, and voted #2 WOTN.
Drank at WWS riesling tasting. Pale yellow color, feint nose of peaches, and slight petrol. Started out bone dry with very crisp acidity. As it warmed in the glass, fruit nuances appeared along with honey, white flowers, a nice minerality and wet stones. This wine grew on me over the evening and turned out to be one of my favorites of the nite.
Drank at WWS riesling tasting. Some peach/apricot on the nose, but lacking fruit on the palate. Lots of acidity, some citrus, a bit of minerality. Not very well balanced, very short. Not a great wine
Drank at WWS Riesling tasting, and this wine outshone all other entries. Medium gold in color, pungent nose of honey, apricots, nectarines and lots of petrol. Fairly viscous, started sweet, finished very dry and very long. Wonderful complexity, with loads of petrol, minerality, wet stone/slate, and plenty of fruit (peaches and apricots, as well as citrus). Complex, long and delicious. WOTN by a landslide.
Drank at WWS tasting. Some tropical fruit here, some citrus. Off-dry, lots of acidity, and on the roundish side. Very pedestrian, and my idea of an intro to Riesling for the uninitiated.
