Confirms its excellent performance in least year's tasting. Has richness and intensity, freshness and power, pure flavours, very structured for a Gamay, excellent length. Potential until 2028+.
Whereas the Côte du Py is still quite aloof and somewhat dismissive, this has opened up and is already showing quite well, even if it does not have the charm of the 2012 (yet) and still needs a few years to really shine.
This really outperforms in its class, delivers lovely freshness and fruit, vegetal notes and smoky wood, good intensity and length. Complete and very approachable white Bordeaux.
Very expressive, rich and flavoursome, ripe fruit and American oak, velvety tannins, balances power and freshness really well. Needs a few years or a few hours in the decanter - delicious.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chorey-les-Beaune
Tollot-Beaut have been criticised for using more new oak in recent vintages, but it becomes this modest Chorey very well. It has fruit and freshness, mineral energy and the wood adds both warmth and interest. Attractive but not exactly cheap anymore.
2013 Francois Carillon Bourgogne Blanc 89 Points
France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
Fresher and more mineral than the 2012, actually quite steely and energetic, well-integrated oak - could pass as a minor Puligny.

Volcanic soils, more mineral than the Bux, some strange notes on the nose, not easy to assess.

Clay soils, riper and rounder than the Schimberg, perhaps with better varietal typicity.

2014 Mas de Daumas Gassac Blanc 92 Points
France, Languedoc Roussillon, Languedoc, Vin de Pays de l'Hérault
Brilliant stuff. Complexity, nuance, energy, rich yet fresh, a mad blend of grapes, but somehow it works at Gassac. A great success.

Very mature by now, monolithic, nowhere near as exciting as it once must have been, a but gluey even. I don't get it.

I really liked the 2011, but even if there is a clear inherent quality to it, this seems hot and sweet and raisiny to me.
