Every participant had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought was poured.
This occasion the host had most of the wines.
1986 Chateau Musar 88 Points
Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
Fairly light carmine. In the bouquet a little barnyard and figs. On the palate plums, dark cherries, some strawberries and apple syrup. Fairly light bodied and completely dissolved tannin. Elegant and completely mature wine (I think). But the opinions about this wine were quite diverse; from too old to mature, or even with some more future. Anyway, for the pleasure at the moment I scored it 88.

1988 Chateau Musar 90 Points
Lebanon, Bekaa Valley
Fairly light garnet red. A little barnyard and musty in the bouquet just after uncorking, but then came some smoke, tobacco and leather. On the palate also some smoke and earthy impressions, red plums and strawberries. The tannin is soft and mild, but still offering a pleasant bite. Juicy and fairly complex wine. Fully mature now.

1993 Chateau Musar 91 Points

Light red brown. Some metal in the mature bouquet and also leather, tobacco, meat and some barnyard. Same on the palate where also licorice and apple syrup appear. Pleasant acidity and a long finish. Especially the bouquet is beautiful and complex. Great and mature wine.
