  Steely minerality, apple, lemon, slight butter…tart citrus, mid palate burr…a bit sharp for me…

• 2014 Patrick Piuze Chablis 1er Cru Butteaux

  France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis 1er Cru

  Savoury with stony notes, citrus, muted orchard fruits, touches of sweet spice. Tangy and juicy with quite muted flavours of apple and slight spice. Burry on the mid palate. Again, quite sharp

• 2013 Stephane Aviron Beaujolais-Villages

  France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Beaujolais-Villages

  polished cherry and berry, torches of wet clay, spice. Savoury and cherry, tiny bit bitter, a touch short, fine mid palate tannic grip. Hmm

• 2013 Stephane Aviron Juliénas Vieilles Vignes

  France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Juliénas

  Wild ferment, funky, muted red berry and sweet spice, slightly stalky notes, lots going on the nose. In the mouth the wine is juicy and fresh with berry and cherry fruit, slight front of mouth grip on the palate. Long and refreshingly lovely.

• 2014 Château de Bluizard Côte de Brouilly Cuvée du Souvenir napoléonien

  France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Côte de Brouilly

  slightly funky and reductive, bit stalky over red berry - unripe strawberry, perfumed. More dense on the palate with drying, slightly burnt tannins, it's juicy but the fruit is lacking, touches of slightly muted strawberries. Hmm

• 2014 Pierre-Marie Chermette Beaujolais Griottes

  France, Burgundy, Beaujolais

  Rich, red berry, slight cheesy funkiness, quite dense, slightly herbaceous. Juicy, but still quite dense, re berry and spice, followed by plentiful integrated talc textured tannin. Hmm

A pleasant tasting at Prince…the Julienas was probably my pick of the bunch but nothing to open the wallet for here for me.
