Five of us got together to drink some nice wines. The reds were tasted double blind. My notes include only half of the reds that left strong impressions. The best taster honor goes to Paul N who actually was able to correctly identify a SQN syrah. I was the distant second.
A great time was had by all!
2009 Marcassin Chardonnay Marcassin Vineyard 93 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast
This particular bottle seems slightly riper than the bottle from February. Initially served a bit cold, dense yellow fruits and coiled. As warms up, lemon curd, lemon oil, vanilla and oak. Excellent concentration, coiled, good acidity and mineral presence and medium finish with a bit of heat. Not liking this bottle as much as the previous one which I found much fresher.

2009 Coche-Dury Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières 96 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
This has settled in and no longer displaying incredible vibrancy. More oily yellow fruits, only a hint of matchstick and mineral. Exceptional concentration yet exceptional precision and energy. Not as pleasurable as the last bottle from Dec, 2015. Nevertheless, very impressive and enjoyable.

2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru Bouchères 93 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Very mineral driven expression with only a hint of citrus fruit, reminds me a bit of Cotat. Subtle but energetic nose displaying lemon, lemon oil, fresh granny smith and limestone. Medium concentration, strong mineral expression, good acidity and clean long finish. Very mineral driven wine.

2010 Lucien Le Moine Puligny-Montrachet Les Enseignères
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Puligny-Montrachet
Very ripe, slightly dark yellow. Nose and palate reflect the color, very ripe yellow fruit and sweet spices. Excellent concentration, slight burnt yellow fruit driven palate impression, good acidity and long finish. Extremely ripe fruit expression makes the wine cloying and a bit out of balance. I can't say premox but too ripe.

2013 En Numeros Vermells Garnatxa Blanca Del Carlos 93 Points
Spain, Catalunya, Priorat
This fits perfectly my definition of natural wine. The hipsters must love it and I do to. A lot of orange here, the color is also like OJ. Dry orange peel, orange juice and sweet spices. Despite very ripe nose, the palate shows excellent balance. This is a very unique win.
