Medium expressive nose displaying slightly coiled yellow fruit, lemon crud, honey, lanoline, sweet spices and mineral. There is a hint of green that I associate with some of the 11 white Burgundies. Very good concentration, slightly coiled ripe yellow fruit, oily and rich but also very precise, mouth puckering acidity, strong mineral, and a medium to long ripe yellow fruit driven mineral finish. Very ripe fruit expression coexist with a hint of pyrazine. If no Pyrazine, that is a classic mineral driven Chablis.

Classic mineral driven Chablis nose displaying slightly coiled yellow citrus fruit, lemon curd, apple, honey, a hint of lanoline, spicy spices and limestone. Excellent concentration, slightly coiled but concentrated yellow citrus fruit, oily and dense but very precise, bright acidity, strong mineral, and a long concentrated lemon curd and honey driven mineral finishing. You gotta love the 14 vintage Chablis.

Much better than the first bottle. Shy sweet yellow fruit, remnant of apricot preserve, dry peach, oyster shell, burnt sugar, honey and limestone. Medium concentration, shy yellow fruit, good precision, bright acidity, fine limestone mineral, and a medium long shy yellow fruit driven mineral finish.

7/25/2022 7:58:00 AM - Hi dcwino. I'm new to McLean, I'm trying to make some wine and/or cocktail friends. Was in Arlington before. I'm 37, 2 kids. Not a huge cellar. I like Syrah, Gamay, Pinot, aged reds, fun whites, etc. Hit me up at tcassidy07@gmail.com.
6/11/2020 11:53:00 AM - Hello,
I noticed in the emails you live in Mclean. I moved to Mclean over a year ago and would love to meet up and share some great wine.
My email is billy.thompson@nsas-llc.com

4/1/2019 4:51:00 PM - Just found your review when looking at the 05 Araujo - heading to Napa this week and looking for something to open when we are there. We are in Great Falls. We should wine together!
12/15/2018 2:37:00 PM - My apologies for the late reply. I recommend two hours of decanting. There is enough fruit concentration to withstand oxidation.
4/26/2018 5:37:00 PM - Going to (hopefully) be in the MD/DC area 5/31-6/2 or 6/3. Would love to get together. Email me at sethr4750@gmail.com - maybe we can figure something out.
2/24/2018 12:07:00 PM - Hi There - thanks for adding me. I used to live in DC and see that you are heavy into the French wines, which I'm just starting to explore. I was intrigued by your note on the Francois Raveneau Chablis. I love Chards but haven't had very many Chablis to know how they differ and what I should look for. It will be fun checking out your notes and recommendations as well as where you manage to find your gems! I'm just outside of Charlottesville, VA. Cheers, Jake
2/20/2016 9:38:00 AM - Thanks, I realized what FG meant after sending you the message. I'll be opening an '86 Ch. Margaux tonight, which I'm betting will be further along than the Mouton.
2/20/2016 8:29:00 AM - FG meant first growth. The bottle was still very youthful and if you prefer the mature Bordeaux expression, you should cellar for another decade. I now prefer the 86 to the 82, more consistent and energetic for my palate.
2/19/2016 9:40:00 PM - Wow, whatta tasting you had last night! Got a few bottles of '86 Mouton myself, but so far have resisted opening even one...
BTW, what does FG refer to? Great notes, appreciated.
1/8/2013 11:58:00 AM - I really enjoyed reading your notes from your tour of Italy a couple months ago. Thank you very much for so generously sharing w/us all! Cheers
