Lemon, straw, musk and a little herbal note. Viscous on the palate, good acidity counters well. Feels reasonably well balanced. Drink now and over the next 4-5 years.
Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley
Honeyed, lime, floral and pear aromas. Holding up really well on the palate, good acidity against a background of wax and honey. Medium length. Not overly complex but really pleasing.
Ginger, grass, orange peel, nutty and apple notes. Sweet tinges around the edge of the palate, feels pretty clean and has decent freshness. Holding well but probably drink in the next few years.
Australia, South Australia, Mount Lofty Ranges, Clare Valley
Honeysuckle, flint, kerosene and toast. Palate has rounded out with the acidity quite mellow at this stage. Good persistence of flavour, this was probably at its peak a few years ago now but still a good showing.
Stalk, meat, smoke, flint, plum and earthy aromas. Palate is lean, with quite a bit of acid that pokes through and disrupts the balance a bit compared to a bottle a few years ago and slightly less enjoyable for it. Still good but wonder if this might be best in its youth.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Iron, blackberry, oak and well lifted floral aromas. The palate is balanced even with a strong tannic kick, as the fruit and acidity lend it freshness. Good length and there is some savoury interest already. Not exactly open for business but does show some of its potential now.
Bright cherry, roses, raspberry and blueberry aromas. The palate follows the same bright and pretty profile. Feels like it has good flow and composure. Well worth trying now.
Redcurrant, stalk, some cedar and spice. Nice acidity that works well with the bright fruit. Still plenty of youthful exuberance here, but it is enjoyable now and I think probably over the next 5-6 years.
Menthol, spice, raspberry, tobacco, leather, earth and plum. Really well composed on the palate, there is fine tannin structure and the earthy elements work really well with the cool red fruit profile. These seem to be consistently excellent and I hope to try a few more bottles in future.
Flint, spice, cranberry, earth and violets - quite appealing on the nose. The palate has bright fruit and a floral element, but it feels a little hollow and lacking in dimension. Maybe just in an awkward phase, but while it seemed nice, I didn't see anything much beyond that.
Australia, South Australia, Fleurieu, McLaren Vale
Ash, chocolate, licorice, cherry and redcurrant. Still bright and very youthful, there is plenty of acidity and structure in place here. Potential to continue ageing for quite a few years and to develop more complexity.
2008 O'Leary Walker Riesling Polish Hill River 90 Points

Toast, citrus, lemon and taking on a little honeyed development. Good length, medium bodied. In a nice medium aged spot, with time still remaining.
