It was amazing, all the best vintages of LMHB ve HB side by side in 5 flights, not blind
All fresh but with typical aging signs, typical wet stone in the nose, the 1948 reminds me to a ripe Yquem
The 1949 LMHB was the second best I've ever had, after Latour 1961 from Magnum
Getting all better with time and air
Beautiful wines after 1 hour of decantaion
The flight of the night, even 61HB was defective or not in best shape
that's not new but 89 is the new 61, much of time
Suprisinglg fresh from a weak vintage, magnum effect
I liked the Nonnenberg 2002 very much, still in a great shape with little aging signs
The winners LMHB 1949, HB 1959 and LMHB 1961, for me 100 pointers. Unfortunately HB 1961 not from a perfect bottle. 1989 both too young.
In comparison LMHB was the winner for me, but this is a very luxury problem.

1948 Château Laville Haut-Brion Blanc 94 Points
France, Bordeaux, Graves, Pessac-Léognan
Laville Haut Brion 1948

Laville Haut Brion 1950
Stroh, Heu, Nuß, Mandel, erneut nasse Steine.
