Introduction

This is the first wine festival at the Millerntor. It is our football (soccer) stadium in St. Pauli a district of Hamburg.

There are about 16 tables with more than one hundred wines to taste at this festival. Our Riesling loving group RFU (Riesling für uns/ for us) joined the festival with an own table supported by the four estates Pfeffingen, K. Schäfer, J. Schneider and Dönnhoff.
Surely, I tasted "our" four wines and a small number from some other tables.

We like to thank "our" four estates sincerely for supporting us and the festival!

Entry level dry Gutswein from this VDP estate from the Pfalz region, on the nose yellow fruit, very harmonic showing of this young wine, peaches, juicy, ending fresh and elegant, to enjoy now and over the next 2- 3years, **

  • 2016 Dönnhoff Riesling Trocken

    Germany, Nahe

My first Dönnhoff of the 2016 vintage, this is the entry level dry Riesling, this vintage this wine got a low alcohol level, 11,5% ABV, some lemon on the nose, fresh, balanced and harmonic on the palate showing some spice, very lightbodied, tasty though, ending elegant with some supporting acid, to enjoy now and over the next few years, **(+)
