France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tasting at the domaine. Starts of with lots of ripe apple and peach, but finishes with lots of power and very good mineral textures. An underlying richness here that will make this drink well young, 2012-2018.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Tasting at the domaine. Very rich and borderline tropical, followed by leaner fruit near the finish with lots of structure. This should age gracefully with 91-92 point potential.
Tasting at the domaine. This is the only wine I specifically asked that we taste, because it was the wine that excited me about Dublère when I met him earlier this year. Rich and probably not classically "Chablis," but there is so much to enjoy here. Wonderful to taste this just before the equally wonderful 2008, which is much more classic.
Tasted at the domaine, immediately following the 2007. This is more classic with plenty of lemon, lemon peel, green apple and outstanding mineral textures. The two vintages are both excellent, but a sharp contrast in style.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru
Tasting at the domaine. Red cherry and berry with a bit of roasted meat. Moderate weight, very good balance. Good already now, should drink well through 2017.
Tasting at the domaine. Lots of red fruit that comes across as slightly austere for Volnay, especially from this vintage. I found this to be simple while enjoyable, but others liked it more than I did.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru
Tasting at the domaine. Red berry with savory spice. Less flashy than many 2007s, with good mineral textures and plenty of restraint. I probably enjoyed this more than the others did today. Best young, 88-89 point potential.
2008 Domaine Dublère Bourgogne Blanc Les Millerands
France, Burgundy, Bourgogne Blanc
Tasting at the domaine. Apple and lemon with very good weight and length for its level. Probably a great value wine,
