Every participant had to bring two wines of the theme; one from Israel and one from Lebanon. We did not know which wines were brought by the others. All wines were tasted blind, also without knowing when the wine you brought yourself was poured.

In the bouquet nutty flavors and also fresh, focused and dry. Beautiful wine.

2015 Golan Heights Winery Chardonnay Yarden 88 Points

Yellow and white fruits in the bouquet. On the palate white fruits and vanilla, a touch of sweetness, butter, anise, a firm dose of oak and smoke. Beautiful wine with good acidity and length. 88+

In the bouquet slightly oxidized, yellow fruits, vanilla, marzipan and creamy butter. On the palate the same impressions, spices and medicine. Good acidity and overall soft and round. Complex and special wine with a great length.

Dark fruits, herbs and some barnyard in the bouquet. On the palate very ripe red berries, metal, sweet licorice and mocha. Lacks some refinement, but overall an ok wine. 83 - 84

In the bouquet chocolate, celery and soy. On the palate the same impressions, some sweet licorice and ok acidity. The wine was a little oxidized and quite mature, but still ok to drink. No score.

Ripe dark berries like cassis, licorice, graphite and herbs in the bouquet. On the palate the same impressions, also some red berries, good acidity, a touch of sweetness, good acidity and round but sticky tannin. Full bodied and harmonious with some ok bitterness in the finish.
