France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Apple and baked apple throughout with lots and lots of concentration. big and powerful with VG balance to start, then more dense and powerful when finished 2+ hours later.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Chambertin-Clos de Bèze Grand Cru
Barnyard aromas, clearly somewhat dirty and imperfectly pristine. Better flavors, but still somewhat off center. Not close to the quality level of previous bottles from the same case. 4 cm ullage.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Ullage 0.5 cm, perfect color. Popped-and-poured, this was sensational out of the gate, and just as good an hour+ later. Black fruit with lots of spice and mushroom hints. Powerful and absolutely charming. This is the 4th or 5th time I've had this wine, and all have been good or better, but this was the best.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru
An odd bottle. Very friendly to start, this wine then shut down hard and provided little enjoyment after 10-15 minutes in glass. Was Kevin's bottle correct? Good fill and color, but inconsistent with previous/ better bottles.
