Dark extracted core with garnet rim; currants, creamy, some eucalyptus; plush mouthfeel, glycerin, ripe, bigger, broad and fat, some acid and age; was picking up on the Merlot though settled on '07 strong Merlot Napa blend.
Bright maroon, some clarity; creamy blueberry, char; not a pronounced character on the palate but a juicy fruity deliciousness with some grip on the finish; very good but would have liked a bit more delineation.
Dark core with garnet rim; some green pepper, currants, floral, juicy, tobacco; fresh acid, oak integrating, quite taut, good drinkability, not what I was expecting stylistically having had newer vintage recently- much more old world personality.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Morey St. Denis 1er Cru
Cloudy dull see through maroon; fresh and young, juicy, watermelon, some herbaceous notes though not overpowering; juicy but firm acid, strawberry, deep cherry, almost watermelon, cherry pit, good sap; solid but not a wow wine or one that screams terroir at this current point so hold off on opening if you have them.
Dark core with reddish orange rim; liqueur, raspberry, ripe, raisins, soft wood character; softer tannin, higher alcohol, late grip; reminds me of CdP.
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Dark core with orange brick rim; aged, mushroom, dried roses, cherries, cedar, orange peel; good structure, late grip though a softness to it; delicious.
Italy, Piedmont, Monferrato, Barbera del Monferrato Superiore
Very dark core with maroon rim; sulfur is strong, violets pastille, licorice, camphor, menthol, dark fruit, plum; fuller body, plush tannin, firm acid and long finish; Syrah-like in a way, good depth and nobility.
