  • 2007 Domaine Roulot Meursault 1er Cru Les Perrières 95 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru

Magnum, popped and poured. Apple and baked apple aromas and flavors with a substantive, charming floral start. Excellent concentration throughout with a very rich and opulent start, but then a long, linear finish. Kept getting better, better, better with more air.

  • 1985 Domaine Robert Arnoux / Arnoux-Lachaux Clos Vougeot 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru

Fully mature red cherry and berry aromas, flavors with slightly more earth and cooked mushroom. Very elegant and seamless with a wonderful, charming finish. Exactly where you want 30 yo Burg to evolve.

  • 1988 Joseph Drouhin Clos de la Roche 87 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de la Roche Grand Cru

Meaty with black fruit, lots of animale. Plenty of rough edges. Good overall, but not as good as previous bottles.

  • 2002 Domaine Méo-Camuzet Clos Vougeot 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru

Comes across as very fresh, rich and ripe. Less evolved compared to last time tasted a year ago. Red and back cherry with sweet spice that makes me think it needs more time to soften and develop nuance. Interesting, but not as complex as I'd hope/ expect.

  • 2001 Domaine du Clos de Tart Clos de Tart 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos de Tart Grand Cru

I almost always like this wine more than most others, and today was no exception to that rule. Very red-fruit-driven with a long, bright and precise middle and finish. Firm and very powerful throughout. Good now, but certainly better in another 5 or 10 years.

  • 2001 Domaine Joseph Roty Charmes-Chambertin Très Vieilles Vignes 91 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Charmes-Chambertin Grand Cru

Brooding black fruit with very meaty character and texture. Still slightly awkward and angular, also rugged and more firm than I'd expect from 15+ yo wine. Slightly muddled on nose, much more integrated and pleasurable flavors.
