Blind. Notes of cherry, earth and clove. Elegant. Flavors of cherry, spice, and dark pinot fruit, a bit bigger than the others in the lineup. Opens nicely; warm spices and cherry fruit qualities. Nice finish. By the end of the flight it became clear to me that this was my RRV pinot. 89+ pts.

Blind. Dark ruby color with notes of black cherry, earth and nutmeg. Dark pinot fruit on the palate with a nice bit of spice carrying through the finish. Develops an intriguing cherry compote quality that I enjoyed. Nice balance-fruit/acid. Guessed OR pinot.

Double blind. Lighter color than the rest of the flight. Aromas of red cherry, herbs and spice, sous bois and roasted game. Soft tannins. Cherry, forest floor/dried mushroom, mineral and red berry fruit flavors. Nice balance. Mineral-tinged finish. Easy to pick out as a Burgundy. Excellent. 91-92 pts.

Double blind. Aromas of cherry, earth and forest floor with a nice meaty old world element. Medium-bodied with flavors of red pinot fruit, cherry and game. Has a slight rustic edge. Gets even better as it sits- cherry and currants. Adds a nice spice element on the palate. Guessed OR pinot. 91-92 pts.

Double blind. Aromas of cherry and spice follow through on the palate. On the simple side compared to others in the flight. Nice fruit and perfume. A bit bigger than the previous wines; stands out as a little riper as well. Lots of warm spice/holiday spice on the palate. Medium(-) finish. 88+ pts.

Blind, though in this flight there was absolutely no doubt that this was my other bottle. Decanted for a couple of hours prior to the tasting. Opaque inky purple color. Aromas of violet, cassis, vanilla and dark berry fruit. Firm, sweet fine-grained tannins with flavors of plum and black fruit, vanilla and incense. Long finish. Clearly young, but I like what's here. Lots of upside but hold until 2025+. 92+ pts.

Double blind. An initial grapefruit note blows off leaving pepper, plum, incense and black fruit notes. Full-bodied, but nicely balanced, with flavors of black and blue fruit, pepper, roasted game and candied black cherry. Nice underlying acidity. Incense, meat and pepper come on strong; I really like this. Guessed syrah. 92-93 pts.
