Introduction
The Chardoneys performed as expected they were all good and if you like Chards you really can't go too wrong with Ramey. The cabs however, while good, were a bit of a disappointment.
2005 Ramey Chardonnay Sonoma Coast 84 Points

Crisp and tart. Plenty of acid but a little thin. Needs food.

Much friendlier with sweet almost candied fruit. Nice and fresh with a good finish.

Not quite as sweet as the others but is bigger in the mouth. Good balance. Good acid gives it a refreshing finish.

Much creamier than the others. Very interesting. Good dose of acid cuts through the cream with a big dollop of citrus. Very nice.

Big tannic grip is the first thing you notice. There is a decent amount of fruit and some tar flavors but it is green and should settle down some. I'm not sure I taste enough fruit to wow me.

Good fruitmasks the sweet underlying tannin. This one has more acid that gives the finish a lift. Has better balance.
