Tasting at winery, brief note. Slightly more Sauv Blanc than Chardonnay with 6% Viognier, which still manages to dominate aromatically with a rich floral start along with a bit of cut grass. Apple flavors with good balance and weight. No ML. An enjoyable wine.
Tasting at winery, brief note. 73% Cab Sauv, 18% Merlot, 9% other three grapes. Cab Franc, at 5%, comes through nicely, adding meatiness and good rustic charm to an otherwise fat wine. Dense start, simpler middle and finish. Approachable with soft, fun structure.
Tasting at winery, brief note. 67% Cab Sauv, 43% Merlot. Rich start with some firm tannins in the middle. Good+ concentration. Probably better to cellar another year to soften, then drink over the next 204 years.
Tasting at winery, brief note. 96% Cab Sauv, 4% Merlot. big step up from Proprietary Red. Firm black plum and currant with good density and seamless textures. Very good length and balance, despite its clear ripeness. Certainly 90+ point potential.
Tasting at winery, brief note. Rich and very ripe. Still nicely fresh, but coming across in a style I find a little more jammy than I prefer, but I know if what most people want / like in their Napa Cab-based wines. I also expect most to prefer this over its 2010 counterpart, but I preferred the 2010's restraint.
Tasting at winery, brief note. Perhaps my favorite of the tasting. Roasted game, black fruit, this is varietally precise and able to maintain an elegant profile. Very good length and density. Also 90+ point potential.
