From magnum. So much better than a 750 bottle tasted two years ago. Great bold nose with lots of toast and dough. Rich and dense. Super youthful and driving.
Wow, intense nose of orchard, crushed stones, smoke and spice. Palate is round and smokey with good lively acid. Very good, if a little short of Zeus-like expectations.
My favorite of the three Rieslings. Big full intense nose has an almost caramel edge to the rich, mature, smoky white fruit. Round and intense, with great concentration. Dry richness in the long and strong finish.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Mazis-Chambertin Grand Cru
The nose is young, primary and forward with lots of black cherry. Polished with excellent grand cru concentration and richness. Perhaps a little too plush and smooth, with little more than glossy fruit at this stage. Needs time to evolve and hopefully show more Gevrey character.
Paired side-by-side with the 2007. Slow-oxed for 6+ hours before dinner. The nose explodes with lots of pepper nuance and meaty, olive-y intensity. Aromatics are so damn sultry and inviting. Rich with great concentration and black fruit that is infused with meat, pepper and olives. Wow, so powerful yet lithe.
Side by side with the 06. Slow-oxed about 2 hours before dinner. Initially brooding nose with big black fruit and notions of pepper but fairly non-delineated. Rich, concentrated and dense but rather clumsy right now. A glass towards the end of dinner was more nuanced and integrated. I'd hold as there is lots of upside from here.
Wow, an epic, complex nose of smoked meat, olive, pepper that is so layered and unending. Palate follows suit -- long, complex, smooth and flat out delicious.
Next to the 2000, this was clearly a baby that needs 10 years to shed some primary fruit and gain nuance. Fun for what it is today ... big rich, ripe black fruit, spice and some pepper on the nose. The plate is full or ripe, youthful fruit. Sultry, but too young and not yet strutting its stuff. Upside from here.

Wow, super expressive, intense and layered aromatics of bright red berries with leafy tobacco and bell pepper. The palate is very smooth with lively acids and almost plush, juicy red fruit. Seamless and integrated. A wow wine.
France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Châteauneuf-du-Pape
Big, primary and almost grapey nose is quite primary with notions of herb and licorice. Palate is impressively concentrated yet light on its feet. It's a bit coarse on the mid-palate and finish, suggesting it needs time to soften. Lots of licorice and herbs in the finish. Upside as this matures and gains nuance.
Appealing nose of mature plum fruit, band aid and green pepper. Mature fruit still has good energy and richness. Nice complexity of earth, funk, cigar and bell pepper. Nice, but this is a little subdued relative to 1st Growth expectations.
Someone at dinner said the nose smells of Skoal, and that seemed to resonate. Aromas of high toned red fruit, mint and tobacco. The palate pops with concentrated, smooth, rich and chewy fruit. Yes this is young, but it's fun now and shows incredible potential. Upside with no reservations to age even from a 'warm' vintage.
Classic AF aromatics with rose petals, dried red fruit and licorice. Yum. The fruit is well-concentrated and smooth at first but quite tannic and firm on the mid-palate and finish. Cleary needs a lot of time, but showing good potential for upside.
I really, really liked this. Bottle opened and slow-oxed 8-9 hours before dinner. Full nose of musk, spice, licorice and dried and young black cherry fruit. The palate is round and fleshy with emerging complexity. Intense spice and musk in the finish. Still not fully ready at age 20. Upside from here.
Big rich and sweet nose of pineapple and sugar-steeped white fruits. The palate is crazy rich and dense, though not at all syrupy. Despite that, I wished this had a touch more acid. Others at the table liked this more than me.

Tired and overly mature nose. Palate is waxy and flat. Well past peak.

An oddball. Fairly brooding and not showing much on the nose or palate. Concentrated and heavy -- not what I look for in Bojo.
