From 1/2 bottle. Pineapple, grapefruit, creamy oak. Medium/full on the palate with an attractive weight and lovely, crisp contrasting acidity. Long and quite nuanced. Lovely
Attractive, lightly gravelly dark fruited nose. Touch of beef. Medium bodied, dark fruit, beefy notes, touch of smoke, nice cool fruit, firm but fine tannins, good length grippy finish. Very good indeed, drinking well, no hurry.
This was quite red-fruited, leafy notes, a touch lactic. Medium bodied, lightly savoury on the palate, soft tannins, finished a touch flat. OK, but possibly not representative.
This shows red and black berry fruit, florality and a touch of mineral around the edge. It is medium bodied on the palate, with lightly savoury red fruit, a subtle gravelly undertow and a good length quite harmonious finish. Excellent.
Attractive, smoky, tobaccoey nose - quite red fruited. Medium bodied, spicy red fruit, fresh acidity, not quite as exciting as the nose but still a very good St Julien.
Lovely claret nose - blackcurrant, gravelly mineral, cedar. Medium bodied, lovely pure, cool dark fruit, plenty of minerality, cedar, fine tannins, linear, vibrant acidity. Complex and long. Classic.
Nose shows cool dark fruit, smoke, gravel, tobacco, this is quite complex, with a firm but fine tannic backbone, fresh acidity and a good length finish. Excellent.
Attractive nose - dark, cedary fruit, touch of leafiness and smoke. Medium bodied, cool dark fruit, cedar, reserved quite subtle but classically proportioned with lovely acidity carrying a good length finish.
