Tasted beside the 2015 Solari and Dr Olmo. Bit tricky to really score at this point since needs more time although this is the most ready of the 3. Peppery (black) on the nose and a slight touch of green pepper on the palate. Nice complexity, could maybe use a touch more fruit upfront. Will improve as it integrates and opens up.
Tasted alongside the 2015 LMV and Solari. Probably my favorite of the 3 although the nose was pretty locked down. Give this multiple years or serious decant. Just kind of liked the mouthfeel and where I think this can go. This is still restrained by Napa standards and more to the Bordeaux side of things.
Tasted alongside the 2015 LMV and Dr Olmo. Let's call this a 93 for now with a lot of upside potential. This was a tannic beast and so I am not sure exactly how to rate at this stage. Most fruit but there is this huge wall of tannins. I wouldn't touch this for a while. Would be fun to follow across a few bottles over time. Wife's favorite (of course since it is the most expensive).
With an excellent Arctic char course. I've always really enjoyed the Lillie when I've had a chance to try it. Just can't get past the price. Not sure but this has to see a reasonable amount of oak. I generally prefer steely crisp SB's but this is one that can round this off a bit and still appeal to me. Lemon, white peach, nice floral nose.
Drank with Kobe Bavette Steak course. Somewhat hampered by the glass tipping over when it settled in the crack in between the pushed together tables which I then proceeded to launch across the table trying to catch it. Most ready and open of the reds but still young. Classic Larkmead earthiness mixed with dark fruit and a nice mouthfeel. For fans of more classic Napa. 91-92 today with definite upside.
