Introduction

We all had to bring a wine of the theme. We did not know which wines were brought. All wines were poured fully blind, also not knowing when your own wine was poured.

Flight 1 (2 Notes)

  • 2015 Château Gaillard 89 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

In the bouquet dark berries, creamy black berries and oak which is not fully integrated yet. On the palate dark berries and licorice, red berries and cherries, a firm amount of acidity and sticky, but also round tannin. Full bodied.

  • 2015 Château Gaillard 88 Points

France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru

The same tasting and the same wine, both tasted fully blind, but another bottle from a different source. I don't know if the bottles were treated differently in advance of the tasting. The bouquet was still locked. On the palate ripe dark berries, yoghurt, some oak, herbs and spices, juicy acidity and round tannin. Needs more time. 3 - 5 years to start with. 88+
