Flight 1 (3 Notes)

  • 1977 Château Phélan Ségur 84 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe

Ruby red with a slightly brown rim. Dark berries and vanilla in the bouquet. On the palate red berries and acidity dominate. Some vanilla. Overall a bit thin and disappointing for its standard.

  • 1977 Château Cos d'Estournel 88 Points

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe

There clearly is a bottle difference with this wine. This bottle was much better than expected. Really expressive bouquet with good cassis, oak and liquorice. Same for the taste. Round and much less thin than the previous bottle. Enough tannin for a few more years.

  • 1968 Château Lafon-Rochet

    France, Bordeaux, Médoc, St. Estèphe

Very light brown. The bouquet is very light, mature and ok. There is no tannin in this wine. High light acidity. Very thin and light bodied, but there are some nuances. A wine from this vintage is special, but offers no pleasure. It is drinkable…that’s all.
