Introduction

Double Blind- didn't know which one was ours. Revealed at the end.

Flight 1 (9 Notes)

Flight 2 - Bonus Wine (1 Note)

  • 2010 Château des Tours Côtes du Rhône

France, Rhône, Southern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône

Cloudy dull maroon, aged; sour plum, olive, leather, cranberry, raspberry, root vegetables, mushroom, medicinal, tapenade, flatter acids, tart plum, dense earth, lingering tartness like Grenache, a touch peppery; seemed advanced and lacking the lightness you'd hope for in a Reynaud wine; called '06 St Cosme Gigondas.

Closing

I didn't do great calling wines tonight. Some tough examples. Looking back at my notes it looks more obvious than in the moment.
