  Reticent nose. Medium weight. Bright, moderately sweet pear and apple. Cheery simple wine with a bit of soil.

• 2018 Domaine Weinbach Riesling Cuvée Colette

  France, Alsace

  Light yellow. Smoky aromas. Medium weight, adequate acidity, off dry, quite mineral. Surprisingly powerful. Broader and different shape from the Trimbach wines, but I liked this and actually preferred it to the higher scale Rieslings that followed it.

• 2018 Domaine Weinbach Riesling Schlossberg

  France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru

  Medium yellow. Fragrant fusel and stone fruit on the nose. Light to medium weight, average acidity, very good soil and minerality which provide most of the structure. Lacks intensity and drive. Not a top vintage of this bottling.

• 2018 Domaine Weinbach Riesling Schlossberg Cuvée Ste. Catherine

  France, Alsace, Alsace Grand Cru

  Riper peach aromas than the regular Schlossberg. Off dry and spicy. Again, just average acidity but excellent soil base. Falls off toward the end. I'm not too impressed with this either.

  Nice weight, apple fruit, and moderate residual sugar. Pretty straightforward for early drinking.

• 2018 Domaine Weinbach Pinot Gris Cuvée Laurence

  France, Alsace

  Riper, sweeter, and more deeply flavored than the Ste. Catherine. Fine acidity and loads of earth on the finish. Excellent and perhaps the best wine served to us today, something I don't usually say about Pinot Gris.

  France, Alsace

  Very spicy nose. Quite rich, sweet, and oily with lively fruit. Bitter finish. The balance is not quite there.

I must say that I was disappointed by the quality of the range of wines we tasted, finding them diffuse and missing some punch this vintage.
