Introduction

Great dinner with Mark O'Connell and the Acker team.

Flight 1 - Something to Start (1 Note)

Flight 2 - Corton-Charlemagne Vertical (3 Notes)

  • 2017 Domaine Clos de la Chapelle Corton-Charlemagne 92 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

In 17/15/14 vertical. Complex array of orchard and stone fruit with floral charm and a bit of new oak that still needs to be absorbed. Good substance and density, just not at the same level as the 2014. 92-93 point potential.

  • 2015 Domaine Clos de la Chapelle Corton-Charlemagne 91 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

In 17/15/14 vertical. Rich and floral with spice galore. Richness dominates with good density but less complexity vs others in the flight. Best in the next 3-5 years.

  • 2014 Domaine Clos de la Chapelle Corton-Charlemagne 93 Points

France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru

In 17/15/14 vertical. Complex cross-section of orchard fruit aromas and flavors with so much spice and floral notes. Very nuanced even without being a real powerhouse. Very good density and persistence. This still has upside from here.
