Oh my - gorgeous peppery and floral nose. Nice fullness and plumpness to the black fruit. Good acidity and freshness. Not the most concentrated vintage but great none the less.
From mag. Big, youthful and still toasty nose with some cedar in the cherry fruit too. Smooth and glides on the palate with no hard edges. A little Napa-esque if you ask me.
Gorgeous aromas of cedary, bell peppery mature plum fruit with a touch of attractive band-aid. Palate is fully mature with resolved structure. A bit thin on the back end. Better nose than palate.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Drinking gorgeously. Filled with mouth coating and concentrated orchard fruit with terrific mineral and citrus notes. Zesty acidic cut provides energy and balance. In a great spot now.
Full rich but non-delineated nose of earth and red berries. The palate has significant concentration and density. Mouthcoating with plenty of energetic bead. Should be a great Dom Rose.
Not sure if this saw any air but it was quite approachable if rich and ripe in character. Plenty of classic red cherry, leather and licorice notes. Full bodied with good concentrated fruit that currently envelopes the structure. Pretty good now, but should improve with 5+ years in the cellar.
Following the '05 Cappellano this was clearly more aromatically intense and nuanced, and more elegant and charming across the palate. Good sweet fruit meets refined, silky tannin. Very primary with mostly fruit and some florals and spice. Should reward a decade or two in the cellar.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Forward and approachable riper red fruit. Grand Cru concentration. Still quite primary though still tasty, delicious. Should gain nuance with another 5+ years in the cellar.
Open the night prior. This is such a packed and dense version of Chave -- it's loaded with ripe black fruit, pepper and meaty notes. So substantial and mouth coating. A real bruiser. Fun but I think it needs 15 more years.
Pretty consistent with a bottle tasted in a Dominus vertical a few months ago. Great aged traditional cab character with aromas of dried tobacco leaf, bell pepper and mature plum fruit. The palate is resolved though still fresh. No need to cellar further.
Very impressive Clos. Loved the aromas that were just the right balance of fresh, bright green apple and mineral with modest maturing notes of honey. Fresh and zippy on the palate. Great right now.

Next to the 11 Moreau Chenevottes, this was a bit more simple and plodding. Good richness and plenty of spice to the orchard fruit. Modest acidity.
