Introduction

Just a little wine and grub on a pleasant Wednesday afternoon with all the precautions in place. A nice day as the wife was off and joining in plus a couple faces we have not seen since this all began. Theme was WTDS.

Ultra pale gold to almost clear color. PNP, drank a glass over 45 minutes. A pleasant little number if a bit of an oddity, citrus and grapefruit, medium bodied, pear, a little floral, dry, nothing very memorable. But a good porch sipper. 87+pts.

  • 2014 Leeuwin Estate Chardonnay Art Series

Australia, Western Australia, South West Australia, Margaret River

Light gold color. The nose is bold with citrus extract, lemon, oak and brine. The palate shows lemon, green orchard fruit, oak, very sour and dry, saline, medium finish. This bottle was not really like the last one we had recently which was excellent. The nose is superior to the palate. For whatever reason this bottle was much more aggressive and showed more oak than others. Score reserved - probably 90+pts but not where I or the rest of the group who all love this wine typically expect it to be.

  • 2012 Le Cadeau Pinot Noir Rocheux Reserve 92 Points

    USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley

Medium ruby red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour plus. The nose shows red fruits, dried herbs, and little green herbaceousness that compliments some dakrer fruit with the earthiness overlying everything. The palate has a great mouthfeel, soft and pretty, really nicely balanced, dark fruits, ripe yet so restrained with lovely spice box and mineral notes. Classy and well done. 92+pts.
