Pale salmon color. Drank a glass over 40 minutes on Scott's deck, from half bottle. Always pleasant, may not quite the verve from this half bottle, but still classy with red berries and nice chalk.

Light gold color. Drank a couple glasses over 2 hours. Ordered from the list at The Compound. The nose has a lot going for it with prominent floral tones, ripe stone fruit, and sweet oak; pear with more nuanced peach and lemon fruit. The palate comes off as plush, fleshy and ripe, with what I would call restrained opulence, ripe and layered, medium-full bodied, stone fruit and lemon, some sense of minerality but lacking some in cut. There's plenty to like here and the style is somewhat of a hybrid, though more ripe and the oak needs more time to fully integrate. I think the scores are outrageous, but this merits a couple years to see where it goes. 91+(+)pts now, some upside of a point, maybe two.

Just a small taste. I'll defer to Joe's notes as I had packed it in at that point. But this was impressive, much more balanced than I expected. Sure, it is a big wine, lot of dark fruits here, but they are not over done; and there's a load of complexity now to really enhance this and make it classy and interesting. Great to get to try this.
