Introduction

7 Pegau Cuvee Reservee, 4 Pegau Cuvee Laurence, 1 Pegau Cuvee Da Capo, 2 Chateau Beaucastel, and 3 Roger Sabon Secret de Sabon served in sets of 2-3.

Flight 1 (17 Notes)

The best wine of the night was Roger Sabon "Secret de Sabon". More delicate and less rich (less extraction, alcohol and body) than the other CH9 domaines we tasted. Perfect balance. Not a typical CH9 to be honest. Extremely nice and well balanced tertiary aroma of caramel on both the nose and palate. One of the other vintages of Secret des Sabon, 2007, was heavily influenced by caramel - that wine was tired. The 2003 was on the other hand at the top. Drink now.

Closing

The winner from my personal point of view was Roger Sabon "Secret de Sabon 2003". Not a typical CH9
