France, Bordeaux, Libournais, St. Émilion Grand Cru
85% Merlot 15% Cabernet Franc 2nd/3rd wine from organic certified vineyard. Medium purple color, interesting nose with something stinging (perhaps spiciness of Cabernet Franc). Silky dark berries in the taste, polished, easy to drink
Light brick color, closed, concentrated nose. Accessible tannins after 12 years, well-matured by now. The finish of vanilla and sweet tobacco can be drink on its own without any food pairing.
Second wine of Lagrange. 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 41% Merlot, and 4% Petit Verdot, matured in 20% new oak. Deep purple color, dark berries on the nose, with secondary aromas of spices, wetness, and potato skins. Very well blended, elegant, and silky.
Strong nose with dark fruits but as well as some mature wines notes, very interesting. Well built with a superb long finish, a nice savory addition with is not so common for Bordeaux.
2015 Château Rahoul Blanc 89 Points
France, Bordeaux, Graves
At the beginning sharp, steel notes, lemon which is later replaced by smokey, toasted notes. Rich in taste with a nutty-sweet finish.
