Disgorged 7 November 2019, blend of 2013, 2012 and 2011. Pear, mandarin, apple and some earthy spices. Strong acid profile, with an oxidative twang sitting alongside. A lot of interest here on the nose and palate. It's a little out there but also as expected of a bottle of Selosse.
Pristine - apple, graphite, spice and crisp lemon. Honeyed apple on the palate, with cleansing acid cutting through. Really fresh with good length and great balance. I thought this was on the way up 5 years ago, and it certainly is - loved it.
Ginger, honey, orange and quince on the nose. Mineral zip on the palate, acid cuts in strongly and works well with the honeyed fruit. Acid will probably always remain strong, just need to time it to still have fruit to work with.
Tropical nose along with lime, saline and strawberry notes. Great texture on the palate, tightly wound otherwise with some of that tropical fruit lapping at the edges. Has great potential, but needs time.
Violets, pear, apple, apricot and some peppery spice. Tangy acidity with orange fruit across the good length. Punchy profile but really nicely balanced. Give it 5+ years before a revisit.
44% Chardonnay, 40% Roussanne, 8% Petite Manseng and 8% Viognier. Apricot, lemon, peach and a smoky/peaty character. Rich with plenty of persistence and a little alcohol burn at the finish. Idiosyncratic wine, quite the experience.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Corton-Charlemagne Grand Cru
Floral, pear, spicy oak and lemon. Very youtfuyl still on the palate, fresh and clean with that oak giving it serious structure. Lovely length and plenty of time to go if the cork holds true.
Good lift to the nose - pencil shavings, red cherry, blueberry and blackberry. Plenty of acidity throughout the palate helps give an extra freshness to the red fruit that works well. Pretty flavours here and good flow.
Mint, licorice and ash on the nose. Actually has some good body and backbone to this, it's not tannic but I think the acidity helps it take shape. Really nicely put together, with nice depth as well.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru
Coconut, blackberry, black tea and some plum. The palate has a tannic punch to it, along with rather sweet fruit and a real ripe sheen to the wine. Doesn't feel quite melded together just yet.
A bit vegetal to start but cleaned up nicely in the glass. Earth, chocolate, coffee and ash. Sweetly fruited on the palate, with woody notes in the background. Good length and balance to this. Drinking near the end of its peak.
Charcoal, chocolate and cherry liqueur. Sweet on the palate, with plenty of intensity. The spirity alcohol doesn't detract majorly but perhaps cuts into the finish slightly.
