2012 Nicolas Maillart Champagne Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs Extra Brut Les Chaillots Gillis 95 Points

Indulgence overload. Creamy, rich and buttery with a full mouthfeel but the underlying acidity and citrus fruit keeps it nicely balanced and brings a refreshing character to the wine. On the nose you will find oceans of roasted hazelnuts, cream, slightly browned butter, sandel wood as well as ripe fruit such as mango, candied lemon and orange peel. Complex champagne and so much drinking pleasure right now. Looong finish.
Tasted alongside 17 bottles of Selosse and it really stood its ground. Fantastic value.
