Introduction

Frank gave me a lift (again - thanks Frank) to five ways to try what they had to show

Flight 1 (6 Notes)

  • NV Lethbridge Wines Chardonnay Nadeson Collis Coda

    Australia, Victoria, Western Victoria, Henty

Medium minus intensity aromas of toast, biscuit, green apple, apple skin, slight lemon citrus, slight wood glue. Juicy acid, plenty of textured grip, fruit light, a little white pepper on the finish. Interesting.

  • 2020 Lethbridge Wines Chardonnay

    Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Geelong

Citrus, butter, lemon, sweet spice, a little toasted oak with time. Medium plus intensity acidity, tannic burr...an impression of oakiness, fruit plays second fiddle. Meh.

  • 2017 Lethbridge Wines Chardonnay Allegra

    Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Geelong

Struck match, smoked bacon fat, over stone fruit and citrus, toasted oak. Juicy, ripe, worked, stone fruit tangy, slightly texture, time should help, balanced but big.

  • 2019 Lethbridge Wines Pinot Noir

    Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Geelong

Pretty red berry and cherry, sweet spice, slight herbaceous underpin. medium plus intensity acidity, similar fruit profile on the palate with a little fruit tea, chalky textured though medium minus intensity tannins carry medium plus length with the fruit. Hmm.

  • 2018 Lethbridge Wines Pinot Noir Mietta

    Australia, Victoria, Port Phillip, Geelong

Meaty, yeasty, wild ferment, red berry; a little raspberry, sweet spice, slight wood glue. Hmm, it's a little off on the palate. Gamey but not very nice, muted fruit, tannins are chalky textured but in the background. Nah.

  • 2019 Lethbridge Wines Nebbiolo

    Australia, Victoria, Western Victoria, Pyrenees

Oak, slightly savoury, meaty, a little cherry on the nose. medium plus intensity acidity, savoury, quite concentrated, medium plus chalky tannins, it's a bit clumsy. Meh.

Closing

Hmm, I thought the sparkling was interesting but otherwise not very exciting.
