Walk around tasting. simple, easy, but on the tart side of the vintage.

Walk around tasting. Floral start with plenty of orchard fruit aromas and flavors. Firm middle showing fairly taut acidity that tightens up the finish, but lots here. Give this at least a few years to harmonize.

Walk around tasting. From 3 plots across the Village. Clear step up from the Chassagne, particularly in terms of richness. Fresh and lean with a burst of energy showing citrus peel on the finish. This also needs time. Very good for its level.

Walk around tasting. Floral and ripe aromatic start with broad cross-section of orchard fruit. Impressive weight in the middle brings out some rich spice, finishing with big, near-unctuous textures. Very good length. 92-93+ point potential, 2025 forward.

Walk around tasting. Quite a contrast to the rich Pucelle, this is leaner on both the nose and palate, with crunchy minerality and a very long, bright finish. This will require more patience, 91-92 point potential, from 2026 forward.

Walk around tasting. Under DIAM, like the rest of the lineup. Lush aromatic start, completely alluring with floral, sweet spice, and ripe orchard fruit. Same flavor profile with so much energy and a long finish.

Walk around tasting. Ripe apple and Meyer lemon with good weight. On the fleshy side with good weight. Not the biggest finish possible but this should drink well young, 89-90 point potential.

Walk around tasting. From 3L.Shows the 2013 sweet/tart note that has nicely harmonized into a cohesive wine, coming across as rich and broad with plenty of baked apple. Rich and nearly unctuous today, I doubt this was anything like that at release.

Walk around tasting. From 3L. Lean apple and lemon, vintage coming through clearly. Plenty of acidity and muscular textures. Time to drink up while the fruit is still fresh enough.

Walk around tasting. From 3L. Mature and rich apple, baked apple. Good+ density with just enough energy middle through finish. Getting tired, still very tasty, but best to drink up.

Walk around tasting. Spiced start with spring flowers, plenty of ripe apple. Big and broad palate with even more orchard fruit, already seemingly complex, ending with a long, minerally finish. Very good already, 91-92 point potential.

Walk around tasting. More floral start, bigger but slightly less fun now vs Fairendes. Needs a few years in the cellar, 90-91 points.

Walk around tasting. Ripe and fleshy on nose and palate. Very fruit-centric, somewhat firm, dense, and chewy, so not fully balanced right now.

Walk around tasting. Magnum. Floral with lean apple and lemon that seems perfectly coordinated with the bright minerality. Very long finish.

Walk around tasting. Magnum. Clearly ripe, this is maturing gracefully with enough brightness to remain fresh. Very good weight.

Walk around tasting. Half each from Puligny, Meursault. All neutral oak. Rounded, fun, and very complete for its level.

Walk around tasting. Starts out floral, rich and fat, brightens up quickly, ending with lots of minerality and acidity. Plenty of apple, toasted almonds rattling around in the middle. Good now, better from 2024.

Walk around tasting. Richer, riper than Créot 2019, but less bright or textural energy. Fun and rounded for near-term enjoyment.

Walk around tasting. 100% destemmed. Pretty red and black cherry, slightly spice, very well balanced. Delicate while certainly fun young.

Walk around tasting. Spiced and floral start with more black fruited aromas, then more red-fruited flavors. Elegant and easy with very good balance. From the Meursault side. Will drink well young.

Walk around tasting. Big and fun start, ripe apple with intense concentration. This also brightens up quickly, ending with good+ length, 89-90 points.

Walk around tasting. As rich as Derrière Chez Edouard, the fruit comes across as the star here, whereas it co-stars with the textures in the previous wine.

Walk around tasting. From 3L. Size matters, this is so much fresher vs a bottle from 2020. Rich and vibrant, and clearly layered and complex. Long, minerally finish is so elegant and impressive.

Walk around tasting. Spiced start with lots of red berries start-to-finish. A but firm right now, give this a year or three to integrate, then enjoy 2025-2035.

Walk around tasting. Rich and ripe apple, baked apple, some peach as well, just less fully composed vs the Pot Bois just tasted, even if more stuffing. Cellar for a few years, 90-91 points.

Walk around tasting. From the Puligny side. Plenty of ripe apple and baked apple, this is rich and carries good weight for its level. Fun young, 87-88 points.

Walk around tasting. Small step up i richness and length, otherwise very similar to the Bourgogne Houillères. Probably cellar for ayear+, 88-89 points.

Walk around tasting. Very rich and fat, but enough acidity to retain its balance and brightness. But still, best to enjoy on the younger side, 2023-2030.

Walk around tasting. Also rich, but clearly more energy, this comes across as bright on its long finish. Good young, this should also drink well for a decade+.

Walk around tasting. Huge step up, this has so much energy supporting its bright orchard fruit character. Good richness, great length. Absolutely worth seeking at at its (likely) price.

Walk around tasting. Ripe, floral nose. Palate shows slightly more restraint, still ripe but with bright energy, particularly on finish. Good+ weight for its level, good length

Walk around tasting. Very bright minerality offsets obvious ripeness, giving lift from middle-to-finish. Good young.

Walk around tasting. Very rich, with mouth-coating textures that imply lots of marl to me. Less harmony and brightness, but with the richness to drink well young.

Walk around tasting. Ripe with brighter fruit elements as well. There is linear textural precision here despite obvious ripeness. Good+ density for its level. 90+ point potential, 2028 forward.

Walk around tasting. 100% whole cluster. Bright red fruit with background spice, good depth. Elegant start, slightly firm finish for now. Better from 2025.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Interestingly, these vines are not really older than the "regular" cuvee, but very different. Only 10% whole cluster here, this is tighter and denser with more overall structure as well as more density. But certainly more backward as well, less opulent, Cellar until 2030 forward. I am not certain which will be better. 88-89 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Also ripe lemon and apple with a good sense of concentration despite mostly young vines. Very good balance already, good+ length.

Walk around tasting. Juicy start, very balanced and tasty in the middle, then firm on finish for now. I expect this will harmonize nicely by 2024.

Walk around tasting. From just below Greves. More black fruits here, bigger and more firm, yet ending with a bright finish. 88-89 points, 2026 forward.

Walk around tasting. Much more complex array of red and black fruits here, also firm in the middle for now, ending with very good length. Structure will need time to soften, 90-91 points, 2030 forward.

Walk around tasting. From near Pommard. Plenty of ripe apple, fun and easy. Good now.
Post a Comment / Do you find this review helpful? Yes - No / Report Issue
Walk around tasting. Certainly ripe with good structure that stands just off center in the near background. Good nose, better palate, which is surprising for the vintage. Good weight and length, this should be accessible and balanced young, 2025-.

Walk around tasting. Just bottled. Bright red cherry with a ripe start and slightly spiced aromas. Similar flavors show some firmness in the middle, then a more lush finish. Cellar for a year or three, 88-89 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Just bottled. More black vs red fruits here, nicely lush with enough balancing structure. Approachable young with sneaky length. I liked this much more today vs when tasted from barrel in November. 89-91 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Bottled in Nov. Very pretty, very charming, nicely balanced. Good weight and length. This should also drink well young, from 2024.

Walk around tasting. Bottled in Nov. More stuffing here, but much more structure. Bright fruit especially on finish bodes well, but this will probably need more time than the others in the lineup. Seems more backward now vs when tasted pre-bottling in early Nov. 90-91 point potential, 2028-

Walk around tasting. Just bottled. Enticing aromas. More black than red fruit, very robust with substantial power and structure. Slightly brawny now, give this a few years to harmonize. My favorite today, 91+ points, 2028-.

Walk around tasting. Charming red and black cherry starts out ripe, then brightens up nicely. Very good balance, very good now, with old vine concentration adding depth.

Walk around tasting. Barrel selection (based mostly on reduction) that gets no added SO2. I found this slightly riper and fresher, and also more ready now. But will it age as gracefully?

Walk around tasted. Sweet black fruit with very good concentration, Richness, without really seeming ripe, this is ever-so-slightly firm and nearly backward. Very good 92+ point potential, 2027 forward. Exactly the same as when tasted earlier today.

2020 Maison Pierre Brisset Bourgogne 89 Points

Walk around tasting. Lush start, but certainly enough structure to stand this upright. From vines near Gevrey, this has that Gevrey meatiness. A great Bourgogne.
