Tonnellerie Damy - Meursault
Tasted Friday, March 25, 2022 by Burgundy Al with 226 views
We were too late to taste any Meursault.
Walk around tasting. Ripe and so fun with great balance. Not the most complex wine, but as fun as young wine can be. Good+ weight. Good young.

Walk around tasting. Big, rich and dense with so much ripe red cherry, baking spice, and autumn flowers. Lots of baby fat here, but this all comes together nicely on its long finish. Better to cellar for a few years, 93+ point potential.

Walk around tasting. Rich start with medium+ weight, sneaky good length, ending brightly. Very good for its level.

Walk around tasting. As rich as the Meursault, but bigger and chewier. A little clunky right now with the clay character of Blagny that seems slightly drying. Better to cellar a few more years, from 2025.

Walkl around tasting. Much like the Clos du Château, just a small step up in richness, nicely bright as well on finish. Good young.

Walk around tasting. A big step here. Lots of apple and pear with some nutty background notes. Ripe fruit and bright textures coordinate perfectly, this is flat-out a great Village wine. Better to cellar a year or three, 91-92+ point potential.

Walk around tasting. A ripe and big powerhouse with apple, baked apple, and apricot, ending slightly awkwardly with lots of grip in its minerally finish. Very good, just not as great as Charmes-Dessus.

Walk around tasting. Bigger and richer, yet more brightly energetic, too. Apple, pear, and poached pear notes, this is simply singing beautifully right now. Good already, better from 2025, 93-94+ point potential.

Walk around tasting. Ripe orchard fruit start with toasted walnut aromas. Equally ripe flavors, but just as energetic and well balanced. Seems to show 1er Cru density to me, perhaps that is the old vine concentration. Great for its level, 90-91 points.

Walk around tasting. Plenty of apple and quince, this is clearly ripe but even more pronounced textures. Lots of energy on its long finish. Good already now, better from 2026, 91-92 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Even richer and more dense, this brightens up in the finish, then ends nearly firm. Still tight on finish, better 2027 forward, 92-94 point potential.

Walk around tasting. Fleshy red fruit with some awkward tannins for now. But there is good volume and depth to allow this time to soften. Better from 2024.

Walk around tasting. On the fleshy and ripe side, but just enough acidity to stay bright enough, but still better to enjoy young while fresh.

Walk around tasting. In tank. Sample taken was rather cloudy and a bit yeasty, so impossible to fairly assess, but clearly there is good richness here.
