Introduction

Wine tasting at De Toren during our South Africa trip. The tasting room was beautiful, and service ever so friendly!

Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • NV De Toren Délicate

    South Africa, Coastal Region, Stellenbosch

    (4/24/2022)

The lightest offering of De Toren. Made from Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon, served chilled. Light ruby with some purple in the rim, candied cherry, strawberry, herbs, blueberry, medium + acid, light tannins. Good to pair with a variety of lighter foods.

  • 2019 De Toren Fusion V

    South Africa, Coastal Region, Stellenbosch

    (4/25/2022)

The ‘regular’ flagship offering. Medium/deep ruby, cigar box, tobacco, cedar, blackberry, dark cherry, medium + acidity, medium + tannins, clearly not ready to drink yet.

  • 2019 De Toren Book XVII

    South Africa, Coastal Region, Stellenbosch

    (4/25/2022)

Vanilla, oak, spice, blackberry, dark cherry, medium+ acidity, medium finish. The Fusion V on steroids, but not worth the price tag in my opinion. Needs a lot of time still.
