A real charmer - this was Provence in a glass. It had a lovely nose, with ripe, sunny aromas lf blackberries, cassis and plums laced with little rustic notes of earth, meat and olive tapenade, and then a lovely kiss of lavender and garrigue. There was maybe a little waft of glycerol at the edges at first, but that blew off with time. The palate was very enjoyable. There was a nice sappy fruitiness to it, with plums and cassis aplenty, but the plump, juicy weight of the fruit was nicely balanced with well-integrated acidity and a velvety structure that lent the wine a nice sense of balance and flow. Nice finish too, with little twists of garrigue, bramble and a kiss lf soemthing minty right at the edges of back palate. This will be a long lived one. While drinking quite nicely now, there was still a remnant of a raw, youthful edginess to it that should continue to resolve and develop over the next few years.
Always pleasant and quaffable, this went down very quickly. Yeast, bread and white fruit on the nose; a fine vigorous mousse and friendly lemony aciidty on the palate, and round flavours of bread, yeast and apples - a very classic Blanc de Blancs characters. A bit simple and rather on the sweet side, but really quite yummy.
