I was fortunate enough to receive an invitation to join an established tasting group for this remarkable survey of four plus decades of Riesling ranging from the driest of the dry to the sweetest of the sweet. Most of the bottles wee provided by one collector who has bought these wines over the years on both the primary and secondary markets, so provenance varied. Each of the last 3 flights was served and tasted blind, although everyone had received the roster of wines beforehand. Within each flight, for ease of reading, I have noted the wines from youngest to oldest even though they were not served in that order.
2007 Joh. Jos. Prüm Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett #23
Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
Yellow. Fresh, high toned aromatics. Yellow apple, slate, and average acidity. Sweeter than I expected it to be and a little less zingy than the nose suggested.

2003 Schloss Saarstein Serriger Schloss Saarsteiner Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel #15
Germany, Mosel Saar Ruwer
Light golden color. Honeyed with some petrol. Full, glycerine feel. Yellow peach, honey, and spice. Sound acidity if little soil. Not a very complicated wine but holding up well.
