Lemon, vanilla and grapefruit. Sweet on the palate but still holds refreshment. Best at first with the hard chill, as it warmed up the sweetness took over a bit. Drinking well now.
Earthy, mineral, green apple and pear. Bone dry, piercing acidity leads into a slightly hard finish right now. Has interest and intensity, but it isn't composed. Will revisit in a couple of years to see what happens.
July 21 disgorgement, 2016 base wine. Cherry, lemon, vanilla and oats. Good fruit sweetness with salivating acidity and very good persistence. Reliably good as always.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault 1er Cru
Flinty, toast, lemon, mandarin and darker floral notes. Good texture and richness, making its intensity felt while still carrying through nicely. Haven't encountered this producer before but I'm keen to see more.
Melon, pineapple, lime and toast. Acid kicks in early here, giving it a lean upfront impression with the richness not coming in until the finish. Drinking well now and I would probably drink it over the next 2-3 years.
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Clos Vougeot Grand Cru
Autumn leaves, meat, roses and smoke. Elegant and balanced on the palate, in a really lovely spot for drinking now with the right mix of savoury and sweet. Holding its shape through the tannins but feels like its ready to go.
Australia, South Australia, Barossa, Barossa Valley
Pepper and blackberry with well judged oak. Nicely proportioned on the palate, medium bodied fruit with just a touch of sweetness giving it youthful appeal.
Raspberry, blackcurrant, cherry and spice. Drinking really lovely at this point - good length, tannins are integrated but still holding up the structure. Right in the zone.
Orange, pine, lemon, floral - nose is lifted and beautifully pure. Palate follows the same approach - delicious fruit purity and that classic sweetness balanced by acidity. Special stuff.

Violets, smoke, red berries. Red fruit profile but it ends up a bit tough with an acid hardness taking the focus. Might improve, might not.

Slate, toast and some earth. Tightly coiled, not showing much on the nose or palate. Not friendly or enjoyable currently.

Blackberry, blueberry and plum on the nose. Sweet edged on the palate, but does hold up with some backbone still. Drink now.
