Introduction

2 sampled by Koloventzos and 2 bottles that I opened

Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • 2019 Azienda Agricola Serragghia (Gabrio Bini) Catarratto Pantelleria Rosso Fanino

    Italy, Sicily, Pantelleria

    Catarratto and Pingatello, 11.50%
    -/-
The wine shows very hazy orange/brown color
In the nose the wine shows high intensity, very sweet notes, filled with rather floral notes, pot pouri, dried red cherries and strawberries, light nutty notes, very easy by the smell, like a misty spring
In the palate the wine shows very different profile, light body, high acidity, harsh tannins, dried fruit again, floral notes like a rose petal liqueur, dried cherries/berries, high in acetic acid, burning stomach, medium finish

In the nose the wine shows freshness, bright red fruit, a touch spicy, cherry notes, almonds, a touch savory
In the palate, the wine shows freshness, there is a strange but also huge bitterness right in the middle, stalky green tannins, like a tea bag left for too long, medium finish

  • 2009 Domaine Vincent Paris Cornas Granit 30

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas

    Opened 16.00, decant 16.20m tasted 16.50)
    -/-
The wine shows bright vivid profile, rusty, black fruit, old school character, earthy, elegant in the same time, plums and prunes.
In the palate, the wine shows juicy tannins, a bit bloody/irony, a touch earthy and gamey, shows balancing acidity, smooth medium finish.
Punching and kicking well above its weight, brilliant

  • 2010 Domaine Vincent Paris Cornas La Geynale

    France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Cornas

From magnum (22.30 decanted in 2 carafes and left a 1/3 in the bottle, 11.40 tasted)
    -/-
The wine shows depth and high intensity in the nose, filled with dark fruit, floral notes next to blue berries, fine spicy frame, elegant without any gamey note.
In the palate, the wine shows again youthful character, fruity, tight tannins, high acidity and mineral, medium to full body, long finish.
There are a few stalky notes (or so it seems) but not aggressive or annoying only adding to its freshness. Still a lovely long life ahead, happy that I have one more magnum
    Outstanding quality
