Porcine, Oxford Street

Impromptu (after a few spluttering failed attempts) supper with Frank at the glorious Porcine...we went with Brunel Les Cailloux as we were due to do a tasting of these wines (plus other vintages) that also go canned - I think I'll end up doing that solo soon...
Scallops with Corn Velouté
Grabbed this (previously tapped) bottle on my way out of the door because I thought it would be ready to be tidied up.
Pate en Croute with truffles and foie gras
Rooster with pine mushrooms
These two acted as burgs subs and were excellent, especially the 2001/
Lovely evening, lovely wines, lovely food, excellent service, wonderful company...marvellous
2009 Marquis de Laguiche (Joseph Drouhin) Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Morgeot
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Butter, toasted nuts, honey, stone fruit with a little citrus, opens up with time to offer more fruit generosity including mandarins and peaches. In the mouth it has juicy acidity, tangy, the palate very much a reflection of the nose with a little almond meal/marzipan note here as well. Yumptious. Final bottle of a half dozen case, Vale.
