Floral and slightly tropical notes on pouring, with air something peachy emerges and the faintest hint of something minty. Palate has a agreeable spiciness to it with some tangerine zest. Doesn't feel overworked.
Some sliced beef tomato on the nose, a little liquorice too and a certain agreeable steminess. Palate is cool, very subtly spiced and has a lovely refreshing cranberry tartness.
Darker fruited that its flight mate, there is some white peppercorn some smoke and with some air a hint of hoisin sauce. Palate is richer that the 2001 with good structure.
Some chestnuts roasting on a brazier and a custard apple sweetness too. Later some olive brine and a couple of pipettes of grapefruit juice. Palate has lovely pepperiness with some bright red fruits and some more of that grapefruit juice. Love this.
This is slightly out of kilter with the others in the vertical. There is some milk chocolate to the nose and a little cinnamon. Palate quite jagged right now - not sure if there is a way back for this wine.
Second bottle in a fortnight, this one was decanted for around 3 hours and showed better than the first one. There is lovely citrus twist to the palate with layers of red fruit too. Palate rich, long and although young, beguiling.
Served blind. Very agreeable youthful wine. Red fruited with a hint of cinnamon and a nod to sweetness. Palate a little tight on the night but there is a good wine to emerge in time.
Cloudy and a little attenuated there is a marzipan sweetness alongside the slightly stewed red fruits. Palate has a hint of black tea alongside the fruit. Not the best bottle.
