This was a very fun bottle. Brioche, yellow and white fruit, crushed vitamins, and a pink bubble gum note. High acid, good balance, and generous as expected with the vintage.

Wow. Ridge Monte Bello continues to be my favorite domestic red and this bottle reinforced why. Deep, detailed, and defined with lush red fruit, tobacco, slate, and spices. So many layers of concentrated goodness. Old school charm in a new world.

Bryan keeps casually opening these, which makes me wonder if his Jasmin collection is as deep as Ryan's!
Meaty, wild, and fully resolved with wonderful spices. Much more delicate than the deeper and bolder 1985 we had two months ago. I continue to be sentimental about the 1994 vintage, so I adored this wine. Even without the vintage bias, I'd certainly disagree with some of the low marks here.

I hadn't had the 08 Dom since having a few muted bottles just a year after its release. Tonight's revisit was a total shock, as it picked up so much incredible weight and richness in just four years. Deep notes of yellow fruit, honey, wax, brioche, white pepper, and intense minerals. Amazing complexity, lengthy finish. As much as I loved this on release, I somehow love it more today. Maybe I need to revisit the 08 Cristal, too. Ha!

Love at first sip. Deep nose of black fruit, plum, rich berries, cedar, tobacco, tar, graphite, and peppers. Amazing length on the finish. While it's incredibly rich and dense on the palate, it has enough restraint to confidently stand out as regal, old world wine. Thanks, Alexis and Tim!

I absolutely love Bereche and this special bottling just reinforced that. Incredibly fragrant, fresh, finely detailed, and complex. Beautiful acid spice and lengthy finish. Love the elegance and balance displayed here. Thank you for the thoughtful bottle, Joe!

Love the bouquet of this wine. Beautiful olives, fresh berries, white pepper, and florals. It's lighter than I expected on the palate (considering my experience with more recent vintages), but doesn't take away from the incredible balance and long life ahead. Delicious, and always a joy to have Allemand. Thanks to Joe at Hummus Labs!

Dark red berries, spices, lovely perfume, and a hint of minerality. Tough to peg as Charmes, but tasty nonetheless. Medium bodied with good acid and a nice finish. Pretty solid for the vintage, and could benefit from even more cellaring. Would've loved to revisit this.

2015 Jérôme Prévost La Closerie Fac-Simile 94 Points
France, Champagne
LC15. Popped it for Joe and Bryan who hadn't had it, but heard too many stories. Absolutely gorgeous nose, but it took some time for the palate to get going (similar to my experience a year ago). Always love how vinous and dense it is on the palate. It had more zesty citrus than prior bottles, but no complaints here.

2018 Lamy-Caillat Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Caillerets 93 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Tons of reduction, orchard fruit, bright acid, spice, and minerality. Loved the length from the entry to its finish. Great wine, albeit very different from my experience with the 2017 Caillerets, which blew me away.
This might hurt my resell prospects, but as much as I enjoyed this 2018 Caillerets, you're really not missing out if you already drink Walter Scott's best Chardonnays (identical to high-level Chassagne and/or Meursault) for a fraction of the price. There's more concentrated yellow fruit in the 2018 Lamy Caillat, but not by much, and the higher acidity in Walter Scott wines might also be more appealing to others.
