Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy. Decanted for about 2h . Clear, deep golden-amber color. Clean, medium+ intense, developing nose. Dried fruit (apricot, fig), oxidative notes, very mineral, zests, floral notes, complex and very deep. On the palate dry, lots of extract, 13,5% abv, medium acidity. Dried fruit, orange notes, floral notes, oxidative notes, nuts, very mineral. Wonderful round and balanced, great texture and tension, very long and complex finish. Drink now or over the next two decades, I assume it will not change much. 94-95
Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden color. Clean, medium intense, developing nose with ripe fruit and herbs. Nice density. On the palate nice warm fruit, herbs and floral notes, medium+ acidity, zests, very balanced, dense and young. Long, fruity finish. Still upscale potential. 93+
Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy Popped and poured. Clear pale golden color. Very fresh and complex nose that opens up with every minute in the glass. Green apple poured over chalky stone. Beautiful warm, ripe fruit, zests, lots of extract, phenolic, very mineral. Beautiful tension and energy, very good balance. Very long and mineral. Still not at its peak. 94+
Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy Popped and poured. Clear pale golden color. Clean, pronounced, developing nose. Smoky, herbaceous, zesty and mineral notes. Very deep, dense and beautiful! On the palate even a step up from the Hubacker. Zesty, smoky, green tobacco, high, ripe acidity, very mineral. Wonderful balance, very deep, great tension and energy, very juicy. Very long, mineral and complex. In a wonderful spot right now. Best bottle I had so far from this wine. 95
Glass: Spiegelau Burgundy Popped and poured. Clear, pale golden color. Clean, medium intense nose, some ripe fruit, herbs, quite fresh. Very good wine, but clearly lacking the depth and complexity of the Hubacker and Morstein in this vintage. Lacks tension and length. Consistent with my previous bottles. 91-92
Glass: Spiegelau Universal Popped and poured. Perfect bottle. Clear, pale citrus golden color. Clean, pronounced, deveoping nose. First with some vanishing petrol, some fine vanilla, white stone fruit and blossoms, mineral, ripe yellow stone fruit. Beautiful. On the palate almost off-dry, due to the high, racy acidity. Only 7,5% abv. White stone fruit, fresh herbs, very juicy. Beautiful tension and complexity, dancing on the tongue and very refreshing. Long, lingering finish. 94-95
Glass: Spiegelau Universal Popped and poured. Clear, deep amber with a reddish hue. Pronounced, intense nose, lots of botrytis, nail polish remover, exotic fruit. Yes, extremly complex and long, but very foreseeable. Tastes like any other clean and good TBA. Extreme acidity, oily texture, never ending finish. But I can't drink much of it. I would rather prefer the Prüm Auslese, because I could drink the whole bottle. First world problems. This bottle is for sure immortal and can be drunk over the next decades. 94
