France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru
Medium intensity with peach, apricot, ripe pear, oak, vanilla, cocos. A bit too much oak dominated (at this stage?). Medium+ acidity, long finish. 90-91
Two more bottles, will wait a bit to see if the oak will integrate some more
I’m getting the barolo vibe I guess, as previously I couldn’t get that excited, but good producers with some age, hmmm. Slow oxed for 4 hours. Medium intensity with roses, cherries, licorice, leather. Medium+ acidity, high tannins, long finish. 92-93+
On day 2 (much) better with deep cherries, some mint
Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino
Slow-oxed for 4 hours. Still youthful, but already enjoyable. Medium intensity with cherries, blackberry, black currant, tar. Medium+ acidity, high tannins, long finish. 92-93
