Chloe by Vincent, Mpls

This was another meeting of the steering committee working on the planning of our France Fall 2024 trip. Four of us met at Chloe by Vincent (DD, SS, CS, KB). My previous visit here was quite disappointing, so I went into this with very low expectations. Many of the key entrees from that visit were classic French dishes that were no longer on the menu, hmmm. This visit was certainly better, but not at the level I'd expect fom a Vincent restaurant. That said, it isn't intended to be as high end either. Still, was hoping for more. On the other hand, we had a great planning session and our wines were in fine form!
2004 Gosset Champagne Célebris 94 Points
France, Champagne
Light medium gold color. Drank a glass plus over an hour. Rich with an almost buttery character, almond, very creamy, brioche, pear, red apple, crisp, orange, white peach, slate and a modest oxidative style. Last bottle, very consistent. 93+ to 94pts.

2014 Domaine William Fèvre Chablis Grand Cru Bougros Côte Bouguerots 95 Points
France, Burgundy, Chablis, Chablis Grand Cru
Pale gold color. Drank 2 glasses over 90 minutes. Focused and filled with tension, this is really coming into its own. Saline, Meyer lemon, crustacean infused earth, a touch of anise, mineral driven and long. Loved it!

2008 Domaine Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Combe aux Moines Vieille Vigne 92 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru
Murky medium dark red color. Drank a glass over an hour plus. Tart cherry, cranberry, murky, tobacco leaf, becomes more earthy with air, great Gevrey spice notes emerge, deep, fairly intense with more acidity. I do get a touch of brown sugar on the nose after an hour or so. 92+pts.

2010 Domaine Chandon de Briailles Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru Ile des Vergelesses 91 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Pernand-Vergelesses 1er Cru
Dark red color. PNP, drank a glass over an hour. Sappy cherry, black cherry, darker fruit builds, a little herbal edge, dense and more full bodied, nice round tannins and and texture. Showing well, but I suspect there's more to come.
