Tasted across a few different bottles when in the lounge and on the flight. Surprisingly the one on board showed the best, i.e. it was the most open. Broad impressions were similar to previous notes, still reductive and tight despite the crystalline fruit.
4g/l dosage, disgorged Dec ‘22. Easy to tell this apart as the grower in the line-up but wasn’t out of place alongside the two tête de cuvées. Rich and broad for a grower, but with good acidity and freshness. Attractive, zesty citrus fruit. Always very pleasurable and one of the most reliable growers that remains under the radar.
More refined and had the steeliness that was missing from the exotic and opulent ‘06. Lemon meringue, quince, toasty brioche and a hint of vanilla. Superb balance and length. Think this was my favourite out of the three strong BdBs; and the best BdM since ‘95?
Very Piper with its sweet, hedonistic nature but the vintage helped to make it lighter and less opulent. ‘07 seems like an underrated vintage, especially for fans of a more linear profile.

2016 Bouchard Père et Fils Meursault Les Clous 88 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault
Didn’t like it at first but it did get better with air. Ripe, slightly exotic fruit with the bitter finish of 2016. Best to go straight to their 1ers.

Felt very international. Purple extracted fruit, over-ripe to me. Would have thought modern right bank if blinded.

2015 Kooyong Pinot Noir Estate 88 Points

Unmistakably new-world Pinot with sweet kirsch fruit, but mellow and light enough to be pleasurable. Good window to drink this.

2019 Louis Jadot Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru 88 Points
France, Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune 1er Cru
Slightly confected but no overt alcohol or warmth. Best compliment I can give is that it tasted like a new-world Pinot instead of Syrah.
