Davyd's Bday celebration at ESBK. Drank in Gabriel Standart. The gift that keeps on giving. Same notes as before with more honeyed nuttiness. Good pronounced nose. Sizzling acid palate. Expressive without being overly opulent.

French but no Burgundy/Bordeaux theme: Knew what this was from the bottle shape and since I just had it last week, but thought it was '08. Surprised that everyone else thought this was a young grower - felt this was a quintessential house with reductive, toasty notes and a broad sweetness.

Wines from SQ lounge / Suites: Very Piper with its sweet, hedonistic nature but the vintage helped to make it lighter and less opulent. ‘07 seems like an underrated vintage, especially for fans of a more linear profile.

Very tropical and ripe. All pineapples and mangoes that is lacking a bit or contrast and acidity. Goes down well but a tad simple. A Dom 13 tasted thereafter showed the difference in class

Pronounced nose intensity with notes of biscuit, yeast, brioche, pear, lemon, pear and toast. High acidity and medium bodied. Pronounced flavour intensity with long finish. Need to serve chill and enjoy as the notes open up. Drinking very well now. Personally don’t think it will improve but not problem to keep easily another 3-5 years.
