Half bottle. Elegant style, slightly reduced on the nose, very minerally, pure varietal character, tight and bright acidity, very good length. Should age extremely well, but I am not really getting the hype yet.

Bottle No 02334 from from 10,453 bottles produced. Not decanted, to witness the awakening of the young wine. Absolutely marvellous. So powerful and yet so elegant, the juiciest cherries and cloves and orange zest, ripe strawberries and raspberries, violets and roses, firm tannins covered in flesh, perfectly balanced and harmonious, rich and complete yet with cool minerality at its core, the oak is just visible, extremely long and beautifully layered finish. Best DRC Échézeaux ever? Star quality, everything in the right place, like a perfectly assembled and arranged bouquet of flowers, long life. Drink now or wait 15 years.
